Virtual Orchestra Project

We would like to invite all musicians to join our VIRTUAL ORCHESTRA this May to perform Pachelbel's Canon in D.

All you need to do is practice the piece and video yourself (on your phone/camera) whilst playing along to the backing track on your headphones.

You can download the music parts (ranges from easy to advanced), and backing track HERE

Email the link to your video to us by May 31st!

We will combine all the submissions and produce the final Virtual Orchestra Performance!

Pachelbel's Canon is a a musical work for originally composed for three violins and ground bass (basso continuo) by German Baroque composer Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706).

It is Pachelbel's best-known composition and one of the most widely performed pieces of Baroque music.

Pachelbel was close with the Bach family. He was godfather of Johann Sebastian’s sister, Johanna Juditha, and teacher of Johann Christoph (1671), J.S.Bach’s eldest brother .

It is said Pachelbel performed his Canon at one of the Bach members' weddings and has been heard at weddings ever since!
